System prerequisites
Stefan Sundin
Hello ZG-Jeng Pathompong. I just published minimum system requirements on our knowledge base: https://spotvirtual.notion.site/Minimum-System-Requirements-153c7f6e1847472caff014af479b6e24
It doesn't have a recommendation on processor speed or specific GPU requirements. The faster the better of course, and the complexity of your space (the number of objects, custom 3D objects, very big rooms, etc) makes a big difference as well. Very slow computers can still load Spot without entering the 3D world.
For system memory, we definitely recommend a few gigabytes, especially if the user also runs other applications. The more RAM the better.
Please let us know if you more specific questions, and feel free to let us know what your experience is running Spot on low-end computers. Thank you!

Stefan Sundin: well noted with thank you for the information.

Stefan Sundin: Hello Stefan, on my surface pro 7 (i5 / 16GB RAM) as soon as I start Spot desktop (low 3D render quality activated) the laptop becomes very unresponsive. Ressource manager shows 1.5GB RAM used by SPOT even if I'm not doing anything in SPOT. Is this expected behaviour ? Also, do you take advantage of onboard GPU ?(even the Iris GPU on my surface pro could help a little)
Stefan Sundin
Luca Bino: Hello Luca. I am surprised that to hear that. It sounds like your laptop should be more than capable of running Spot. To help us eliminate potential factors, can you check if you also experience this when using Spot in Google Chrome? If that is the case then perhaps there is something strange going on in your world. Do you have the same problem when you're using Spot without entering the 3D world? And as a last test you can try creating a brand new world with minimal modifications and see if the same issues appear. If you can narrow it down to a world issue then you can send us an invite link to your world which can help us debug the problem in greater detail. Thank you!

Stefan Sundin: When I start another world the RAM used is definitely a lot less. Where can I send you the invite ?
Luca Bino
Stefan Sundin: when I uses Spot in Edge it takes 3 to 5 times less RAM than in the desktop app. We can check this together maybe next monday (as soon as you let me know where to send the invite)
Stefan Sundin
Luca Bino: I suspect you've accidentally modified your world in a way that makes it consume a lot of resources. Please send an invite to support@spotvirtual.com and we will come and take a look. Thank you!
Luca Bino
Stefan Sundin: I've sent the invite. Looking forward in having your feedback.

Stefan Sundin: hello Stefan Sundin have you had the time to take a look at our world?
Stefan Sundin
Luca Bino: Hi Luca. I did have a quick look unfortunately I haven't had time to profile it yet to figure out exactly what is the culprit. I suggest that you can try cloning the space and then delete some of the assets until it starts performing better. I will try to take a closer look next week. Happy holidays and merry christmas!

Stefan Sundin: Hi, How can I using Spot without entering the 3D world? Is there the menu/shortcut to use it? Does it mean we using Spot in 2d world?
Stefan Sundin
Ivo: Hello. It means that you only use the chat and do not click the "Enter" button after loading Spot. If you've already entered the 3D world then you can exit it by clicking the "Leave" button in the bottom left corner (to the left of the microphone button), and then clicking "Leave space". We do not offer a 2D experience of the 3D world at this time. At this time we do not offer audio and video in the chat, you have to enter the 3D world for those features at this time.
